Hello World. What a month. Elections, recessions, depressions, wars, and that is just what we awake to. Thank God for golden yellow sunshine, cold air, and what ever else she wants us to endure. Hello 2008.
Where are the Momma Bears ? Where O" where are the Momma Bears ? We all see it on our newscasts. Women hurting their own children, babies being neglected and brutalized. Their is yet another dead baby found in Galveston, Tx. Look . . . what are we doing ?
Where are the Momma Bears. I do not remember any nursery rhyme saying momma hurt the baby, or allowed anyone else too for that matter !!! Momma Bear is the protector and nurturer. Momma Bear is the wise one. You do not mess with Momma Bear. She is sweet as honey, calm as chamomille, but you mess with her babies and she will have your ass begging for mercy !!! That is Mama Bear.
Mama Bear does not let anyone of ill will near her babies. She can smell trouble way before it gets near. Momma Bear does have strict barriers and for a damn good reason. That . . . is Momma Bear. Momma Bear knows it's tough, so she needs the time to stay balanced and strong. Momma Bear always knows her role and is always there to play it. Period. Papa Bear is never too far away, without Momma Bears permission.
Once babies are of age and on their own then Momma Bear can relax. Moving on to her new life and destinies. Momma Bear did her duty,(and it is "duty" . . . I don't believe in sugar coating it) and is now able to play Momma Bear style !!!
Calling all Momma Bears !!! Tell me your story. Have an opinion ? . . . join me on www.blogtalkradio.com/theindiadeclairshow Friday @ 7pm CST . . . and lets talk about it.

Hello World. Historic and tantalizing was this past weekend.
I cannot help but notice the dance of the obnoxious husband and the wife who cannot control him. I believe women have the power . . . and especially in marriage. She should be able to look over in her special and all powerful way, and chill out whatever the situation would be.
Which brings me to Senator Clinton and her husband Bill. Hmmm . . . some of his obnoxious inappropriate blathering has cost her plenty. Will she reign him in ? Can she? We have all seen his loyalty wander.
The power of feminism starts from the home and works its way out from there. Let's repeat . . . The power of feminism starts from the home and works its way out from there !!!
This political process is a long road, and the story certainly isn't written yet. However, these are interesting petals of the political bouquet that is definitely worth paying attention.
Lets talk about it . . . join me Fri 7pm CST

Hello World. I had the pleasure of discussing "pleasure" last night on www.blogtalkradio.com/theindiadeclairshow . Thank you for your participation and commentary on The India DeClair Show.
"Women We Need To Talk" . . . was a tremendous success, and I so look forward to this series and segments of conversations.
As we watch our January in all of her chill and maternal fury . . . be sure to take time and stay connected with you, so that you are able to connect to others in your daily lives.

Hello World. As we watch our cold wet wondrous January pass us by I want to talk about where we are as women . . .
Women We Need To Talk. There is no doubt that we have come so very far in our journey as a force to be reckoned with. We women have risen to change our nation and the world. However, we still seemingly have a way to go when it comes to how we deal with ourselves and life itself.
It is 2008 so allow me to be blunt. Are you handling your situation ? When it comes to your ability to "keep it all going" . . . do you ? Can You ? I know myself sometimes I want to scream !!! I am wondering if I am alone. I have a feeling I am not. We women have so much on our plates !!! Home, work, family . . . and if were lucky pleasure.
The pleasure factor is the most often overlooked. In this era of busy life and fast paced everything . . . are we giving ourselves permission to have and receive pleasure ? It comes in so many forms. Some not as authentic as others. I am talking about real pleasure . . .
Shopping to some is pleasure. I love a fabulous handbag and great boots. Finding that perfect pair of jeans can be up there (by the way I have yet to find them . . .) but that is not what I am talking about. I am talking about a healthy level of selfishness that you unapologetically have for yourself.
What's your pleasure ? Is your approach to pleasure healthy or dangerous ? Are you a flipper ? Do you flip men or women, like some flip real estate ? Have you done wild things to hold on to your "so called" pleasure ? What is pleasure to you, and how far have you gone to get it ?
Let's get into it . . . Join me tonight 7pm CST

Hello World. " Free At Last . . . Free At Last" . . .
What have you used that freedom for lately? If you are elderly you are possibly using that freedom to decide how much to spend on medicine and how much to keep back for food and . . . YOU.
If you are with family . . . you are possibly using that Freedom to love and fulfill your kids while keeping them busy, thinking about how to get out of that adjustable rate mortgage . . . while paying all else on time, give the spouse some much needed attention, and maybe patch up the house a bit.
If you are young and in the World you are possibly using that Freedom to serve Our Great Nation . . . but wait . . . you could be on your fourth tour !!! That . . . "AINT" right !!! LET US ALL pitch in and do something with this BLESSED freedom to protect this Great Nation.
I guess what I am saying is, we are all out here doing our daily and we take our freedoms for granted . . . except those precious military personnel and their families that are paying as we breathe, paid and lived through wartime, and paid the ultimate price for all of those freedoms, that we so achingly take for granted.
I know Dr. King was not a man of the military . . . he was a man of peace and equality for all regardless of race, culture or religion. What a concept . . . peace and equality for all . . . regardless of race, culture or religion. Damn, we are living in such chaotic times and so much confusion. . .

Hello World. Our characters content needs an inventory assessment. As we are on the eve of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday . . . let us stop. Take that deep breath . . . and be grateful for our abilities to realize our destinies.
Let us look to our God and then to ourselves for our dreams and goals. Let us look in our children's eyes and see our bone marrow deep duty to strengthen them in every way we know.
Thank you Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for your belief, strength . . . and showing us all reguardless of color . . . the ability to pursue our destinies.

Hello World. Truly . . . Thank God It Is Friday . . . I feel you hurrying up to get home to do nothing and love each nothing moment of nothing.
But then there is never nothing ever really going on is there ? Slowing down is a skill and takes practice. The world spins and time never stops. The World is at war, women, pregnant mothers murdered and disposed of as old car parts. No . . . worse than car parts. People don't burn carparts !!! Fathers throwing children over bridges and freeways. Mothers killing their children . . . but fight for their own lives . . . hmmmm. And on and on and on.
Then, there is the house needs painting, the bathroom needs repair(s),the roof is leaking, the car is making some strange noise . . .and on and on and on . . . Oh yeah . . . the kids are nuts too . . gee I wonder why ?
Be Still. Yeah right . . . Tune into www.blogtalk.com/theindiadeclairshow 7pm CST and let's get into it.

Hello World. This is a long road and will continue to be . . . as we awake from wherever we are realizing this is a circus and we are just trying not to be the circus monkey. . .
I don't want to be bitter but it seems as though . . . the waters are slowly getting rougher and rougher . . .and then there is faith . . .
Lettuce is becoming a delicacy if not in function, certainly in price. Let's not even speak of romaine. Damn, this is real. I don't do dairy but it's high in price . . .
Abundance encircles us . . . were taught "not" and "to" notice but to just accept it and buy buy buy . . . more more more. Abundance wafts in the wet winds of our January slapping us all upside our pickled minds.
But then there is . . . no matter what obstacles there are in life no matter what you / we cannot give up. We as women have to stand up and say Dammit no more !!! I will be respected !!! And that starts with me saying I will respect myself !!! My God . . . My family. My Nation. My world.
Maybe the silver lining of the recession, depression whatever you want to call it . . . maybe the good thing will be that we can slow our asses down maybe read a book or two. Be with family and be willing to look at ourselves and say what am I bringing to this game. What am I bringing to this life. What am I bringing to my family. Maybe because no one will be able to afford the abundance for a while . . . we can scrub things down. Take a good look around us. Slow "us" down and take some personal inventory. But then there's . . .

Hello World. What an age to be alive and witness. The extremes making themselves known each and every day.
Yet we go about our daily, doing what we have to do so we can do as we would like to do later. Times are hard and will get harder, yet they are so awesome and filled with an unknown life force that we all know is there. How can you not feel it. There is a lot going on out there . . .
Bush . . . begging in the Middle East. The election . . . why did the Democrats punish Michigan even more than Michigan has been, is . . . and will continue to be punished? The financial institutions losing billions. And then there is . . . Ms. Oprah Winfrey . . . congratulations on OWN The Oprah Winfrey Network. Whether you agree with her politics or not, she is an unprecedented business woman. A beacon of inspiration and of what can be.

Hello World. I am glad to see there is a supposed truce between the Clinton and Obama campaigns, because the more I watched and listened to Mr. Bob Johnson's comments (in particular) in news reports, the more disturbing those comments became. Allow me to explain . . .
Black Americans need to have honest and intelligent dialogue about race, not ignorant code rhetoric through surrogate supporters. In the case of Mr. Johnson, the former CEO and founder of BET . . . I believe his network has done more to promote, glamorize, and serve on a platinum platter the negative imagery of black men and women. The constant "drum machine thumping" mixed with derogatory lyrics and forty ounce wielding black youth, has poisoned millions of black minds in this country.
No wonder we have failing schools. No wonder we have exploding crime rates. No wonder the black family is shattered. No wonder millions of black children, have no father in the home. These images have glamorized, heathenism, and thuggery. Where are the rap CDs promoting education, working hard at work, "hanging in" when life gets tough. You get the picture . . .
No Mr. Johnson . . . I do not want to hear from you what Mr. Obama was doing. If anything, he is an example of success in spite of all of our nations distractions. He and Michelle Obama are an example of an intact black family, and we so desperately need that in the dialog about race in America.
This is real. This is raw. This is right now. . .

Hello World. It Is A New Day Baby !!! As we awake and watch the world in all of her fury do her thing . . . I cannot help but feel the tide of change.
I have heard television personalities use the phrase " under normal circumstances " . . . this election would play out like this . . . however in this situation it is totally unpredictable.
The sparks are flying between Obama and Clinton. Black Americans have so solidly backed the Clinton's and now they are beginning to feel their wicked grip eroding. Blacks saved President Clinton during the Monica Lewinsky fiasco, and the whole "first black president" thing. What was that?
I have no selection in this electoral process. Black America watch who you give your most precious vote to. For all that blacks in America have invested in the Clinton's . . . I simply cannot see the return on that investment.
We are early this process. Do your research on the candidates . . . all of them. Remember your vote is precious. Many are spending hundreds of millions to get it. Don't be "shucked and jived" by weak and slimy rhetoric. You research and you decide.
Think about it . . . and let's talk about it www.blogtalkradio.com/theindiadeclairshow
