Hello World. As we commemorate the courageous and visionary Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. . . . I ask, how would he see things today?
As I listen to his oratory, and feel the passion and faith in his words . . . my mind drifts to the chaos in "our" neighborhoods, schools, communities, and cities of our Great Nation.
Dr. King was such a young, passionate, and intelligent man. So sound in his faith and vision . . . he was the voice of the "new generation" of his era. New generation . . . this is where we are today. I can almost see Dr. King passing the baton to the new generation.
What are "We" going to do? What do "WE" envision? What do "WE" stand for? What are "WE" going to do?
Our families, schools, communities, and cities are clearly in a state of turmoil. This turmoil reflects our lack of vision, our lack of spirit, our lack of self knowledge, our lack of history.
What good is the message of Dr. Martin Luther King . . . if we do not accept it, absorb it, and apply it? Yes . . . "WE" are the new generation . . . What are "WE" going to do?
Thank You Dr. King . . . I was just a little girl at the time of your death. (My mother protected us from the violent images. Thank you momma, I love you.)
Dr. King ushered in a new path for America . . . "WE" are all recipients of his vision, courage and faith. May God continue to bless his precious spirit, and that of his family, who has sacrificed so much for this Nation.
One Love.
