Hello World. Now what . . . ? With Senator Obama poised to win the Democrat nomination for President of the United States . . . The looming question on a lot of political minds is who will be the running mate?
As we watch, participate, email, blog, and discuss our opinions . . . the uncomfortable and prickly personal feelings cannot be avoided. This particular campaign has been very personal, and oh so dramatic.
Now what . . . ? Do we put our personal opinions aside and think as politicians do? Do we bite our tongues, hold our noses and vote in protest? Do we sit on our hands and do absolutely nothing (hopefully not)? Absolutely not . . .
With war(s), thousands of our precious family and friends dead and living with lifelong war trauma . . . with energy and fuel prices through the roof with no end in sight, with a mortgage crisis, (business and personal) unraveling before our very eyes, with our nations schools transforming into campuses of teaching tests, violence and death, with our nations food prices rising faster than fuel, with the cost of university study becoming beyond reach . . . and on and on and on . . .
We must stay engaged, connected, aware, and energized. The issues are as serious as they can get, and affect us all. Stay engaged, connected, and focused. Now what . . . ?
The election process is personal, dramatic and extremely serious.
