Hello World. We acknowledge the great dads today, and really slow down and take the time . . . to hug him, love him, cherish him, go ahead make a fuss over him . . . he's dad.

Great dads are the much needed oil to the nation's machine. Mentally, spiritually, physically, emotionally, economically . . . dad matters. Period. Dad's . . . really matter. We had better wake up and realize it.

However, millions of children are, and have been . . . "dad less." They have had to absorb the shock of being left behind. The stress, drama, anxiety . . . and a myriad of other life complications all inherited . . . from the abandonment, the excuse making, the justifications, the just not giving a damn. He may be a DNA donor, but he is not . . . a dad. It takes love, curiosity, and a willingness to be accountable . . . to be a dad.

A dad is the committed, devoted, loving, hang in there when things get rough guy, yeah that guy. The title . . . dad, is earned from experience, from being there. Being a dad is serious business. Being a dad is earned. You finish what you start. You nurture what you create. Being a dad is leaving a legacy . . . not of unattainable perfection . . . but of a man who is grounded enough to know to live by example. A dad can say "I was wrong." Knowing and accepting we will all make mistakes, a dad can apologize . . . and mean it.

Things will happen. Setbacks will be part of any family journey . . . but to always nurture what you create. Now that . . . is a dad.

Happy Fathers Day . . .
