We have a nation of stacked storage rooms filled with stuff to prove our unquenchable thirst for instantly gratifying, longterm devastating . . . product. A society conditioned to consumer lust, love and 'charge it' for the past thirty years now . . . has a cold and bitter side to it.
***** The housing debacle. Will the mortgage market improve? Not anytime soon . . . and we know it.
***** Will Fannie, Freddie, the big banks and fat cat mortgage holders come to a multi ego holding, fabulous (taxpayer subsidized) hand carved teak wood table . . . and figure out this massive economically earth crushing . . . housing monstrosity?
New Year, New US . . . is impossible to ignore. Period.
It's been reported 'Moody's Investors Service' and credit rating agency has said blunt, and upfront (I'm paraphrasing) Americas credit rating will decline if We The People do not get our federal credit deficit act together. Damn.
***** 2011 cannot be a year of further denials. New Year New Us must face the tragic fascinating array of critical, historic and serious multifaceted issues.
Every issue is connected, and impacted directly as we rest (when we get the chance) with one eye open during these uncertain ice cold economic headwinds we face longterm.

An original, beautiful, and powerful voice silenced this holiday season. Ms. Teena Marie the Grammy Nominated musical powerhouse passed away 26, December. She will be missed. Thank you Ms. Marie.
President Obama while on holiday in Hawaii, was speaking with Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffery Lurie, and spoke of Mr. Michael Vick, and the second chance given to him after serving 19 months in jail for his part in the horrific dog fighting ring incident.
Thank you President Obama.
Clearly the dog fighting ring was horrific. However, Mr.Vick has served the time, and is a great high profile example of redemption, and course correction.
This issue amplifies America's criminal justice system, and how we as a nation need to deal with people who have been to jail/prison.
Americans who have served their sentences, have skills, talent, capabilities, and desire to prove themselves to be viable, competent, and successful contributors to society . . . should have (or create) an opportunity to do so. Period.

Did we really need the fabulous lusted after (fill in the blank)? Whether we had to have it's deliciousness or not, (fill in the blank) now has to be paid for . . . (with painfully cold interest).
We of course find ourselves with the anxiety filled, and emotional weight of massive job losses, off shoring, out sourcing, and consumer debt. This has weighed down the tired wings of a once stable and strong economy.
America, the consumer nation has lost millions of jobs, and has trillions in consumer debt . . . to pay off.
With the multi trillion dollar consumer debt dumbbell in the lap of the American consumer, and millions of jobs scarce . . . thinking, working, living, and going beyond material things is REAL RAW RIGHT NOW . . .
In this holiday season, a mindset recalibration of appreciation for life's little things, an awareness of special in everyday moments and experiencing joy ... in absolute nothingness may be the ultimate gift.

President Obama's statement:
"Today, the Senate has taken an historic step toward ending a policy that undermines our national security while violating the very ideals that our brave men and women in uniform risk their lives to defend. By ending “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” no longer will our nation be denied the service of thousands of patriotic Americans forced to leave the military, despite years of exemplary performance, because they happen to be gay. And no longer will many thousands more be asked to live a lie in order to serve the country they love.
As Commander-in-Chief, I am also absolutely convinced that making this change will only underscore the professionalism of our troops as the best led and best trained fighting force the world has ever known. And I join the Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, as well as the overwhelming majority of service members asked by the Pentagon, in knowing that we can responsibly transition to a new policy while ensuring our military strength and readiness.
I want to thank Majority Leader Reid, Senators Lieberman and Collins and the countless others who have worked so hard to get this done. It is time to close this chapter in our history. It is time to recognize that sacrifice, valor and integrity are no more defined by sexual orientation than they are by race or gender, religion or creed. It is time to allow gay and lesbian Americans to serve their country openly. I urge the Senate to send this bill to my desk so that I can sign it into law."

Fast forward to now. Yesterday, The United States Senate passed The Middle Class Tax Relief Act of 2010 (H.R. 4853) . . . by a vote of 81 to 19 in favor. This budget busting boondoggle is being crammed down the throats of the American People.
Hurry, hurry, hurry, and pass this legislation.
According to congressional members there has been no study of economic impact, no markup, no CBO score, and a lack of running this massive taxation package past the public scrutiny it should be subjected to.
Public scrutiny on issues as the 2% payroll tax holiday, and how it will impact Social Security.
My point is legislation costing a whopping, and borrowed $2 trillion, as H.R. (4853) The Middle Tax Relief Act of 2010 does . . . should not be shoved down the throat of the American People.
