Disastrous Republican rooted deregulation legislation (COMMODITIES FUTURE MODERNIZATION ACT OF 2000, GRAMM LEACH BLILEY ACT OF 1999 etc), and the freak tentacles connected to it...have resulted in millions losing their jobs, homes, savings, wealth, stability, and absolute implosion of monetary peace of mind.

Hello World. "Disconnected to the reality of it." These are the words of Republican Senator Jeff Sessions, Ranking Member of the Judiciary Committee.
The Supreme Court Confirmation Hearing of Solicitor General Elena Kagan, has been, and continues to be very interesting.
Yesterday, Republican Senators Sessions, and Kyl's remarks were disturbing, and insulting. The references to the late and iconic Justice Thurgood Marshall as an "activist judge" was "disconnected to reality."
The many apparently coordinated attempts to put Justice Marshall on trial . . . is insulting, and once again reveals the narrow perspective of many Republicans in politics today.
This is tantalizingly tragic. All Americans should be highly insulted at this display of political arrogance, and disrespect.

SENATE REPUBS, AND SEN. BEN NELSON KILLED UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE EXTENSION FOR OVER 1MILLION AMERICANS!!! THE INDIA DECLAIR SHOW . . .
Hello World. Is there any lingering doubt anymore? Republicans are flat out, without a doubt, in your face, insulting American people who have found themselves out of work in this historic economic downturn.
Let's face it, this is the greatest mass of unemployment since the Great Depression. In my opinion the freak no job fallout is due to mass outsourcing of jobs via corporate tax incentives to relocate (quietly) to now "emerging markets."
Bon Voyage jobs, careers, and economic security!!! Thanks Repubs!!!
You would think Repubs would ensure the extension of unemployment insurance benefits for over 1million Americans, since the freak policies deregulation, and contortionist trade agreements, via freak legislation brought this economic hell hole on.
Thanks again . . . Repubs!!!
Republicans have told Americans:
1.They are "spoiled."
2.That "unemployment insurance is a disincentive to work."
3.Be careful with that unemployment insurance it could go from being a "safety net" to a "hammock."
4.Unemployment insurance will "basically" be used to "go out and blow on drugs" and therefore drug testing should be implemented.
5.Unemployment insurance is like feeding "stray animals" Americans need to "quit feeding stray animals because they breed."
6.Oh and of course the old...the extension of unemployment insurance may result in "hobos."
H.R. 4213 The Amendment to extend unemployment insurance benefits to 1.2 million Americans was voted down yesterday. The sad, and infuriating vote tally was: 57/41. All Republicans and Senator Ben Nelson voted against this legislation.
In an unprecedented economic situation, this is yet another Congressional slap in the face of The American People!!!
Meanwhile, all who voted against the American people, those same taxpaying Americans they voted against, pick up the tab for their taxpayer salaries, pensions, health care (with public option), cost of living allowances, and the benefit of voting for their own Congressional raises.
IDECLAIR...The American People need to take a long analytical (not spin infused) look at their elected office holders, and use your voting power!!!

But...Texas Republican congressman Joe Barton said a lot!!! He apologized (literally) to BP CEO Tony Hayward. Tx. Republican Congressman Barton also referenced the 20 billion dollar compensation fund agreed to under the leadership of President Obama . . . as a "shakedown."
Wow. The republican congressman later apologized for the apology. The level of detachment was astonishing!!!
Question: Are the many, and now infamous Congressional hearings productive in your opinion, or are they a political theatrical production?

What is it? Why is it important? http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-the-jones-act.htm "The Jones Act is officially titled the Merchant Marine Act of 1920, although it came to be known as the Jones Act after Senator WesleyJones, who sponsored it. The act was passed in response to concerns about the health of the Merchant Marine, and to establish protections for sailors. Prior to passage of the Jones Act, sailors who were injured on the job had few options for recovering damages or getting assistance; recognizing the inherent danger of working at sea and the value of trained seamen, the Jones Act established a system of benefits for sailors." |
"Two parts of the Jones Act are of particular historical importance. The first heavily promoted American built, owned, and staffed ships. This was accomplished by restricting shipping and passenger trade within the United States to American owned or American flagged ships, and stipulated that 75% of a ship's crew must consist of American citizens. In addition, the use of foreign parts and labor in ship construction and repair was also heavily restricted. This section of the Jones Act was intended to create a strong, well staffed Merchant Marine which could ably serve the United States during both peace and war."
Even though "The Jones Act" prohibits foreign built marine vessels from operating in domestic waters to protect the domestic ship industry...should it be waived? The Gulf Coast ongoing oil gushing catastrophe requires all tankers available to "suck and salvage" the massive amounts of crude out of America's waters.
Do you care if the vessels is foreign flagged...if they are willing, and able to get the oil out of the Gulf Coast Waters? Clearly, America needs help to save the Gulf Coast, and all sectors connected to it. Should President Obama waive The Jones Act?
