Good Thursday, and thank you for listening to THE IDECLAIR SHOW… (I am a bit under the weather and will return live soon.)
Isn’t it something? Billions in customer investments missing, and wealthy folk get to simply say they don’t know where the money is? Apparently so!
As we have all witnessed, and many are living through… regular folks are held to a brutal standard of accountability, and consequences. Millions of Americans are having to live with and try to figure out how to go on in spite of the loss of their homes, savings, retirement funds, stability, way of life… Everything is ALL GONE!
Americans are definite victims of predatory this, and systemically corrupted that. People have had it with the gross, vile and in your face inequities, and injustices that many are just now beginning to speak to, and stand against.
Can you say #OWS, and the 99% Movement?
However, wealthy folk get to tenderly tap dance through an apparent series of Congressional hearings, speak of their lack of awareness of the monetized monstrosity they were in charge of, and explain how they had no knowledge of what was going on.
YAWN.
As one Congressman has said this morning, “one hopes for the best… while clearly expecting the worst.”
This is the REAL RAW RIGHT NOW…
Where is the money (in this particular case, $1.2 billion, and reportedly could be a lot more)? When will customers (investors) get their money back?
Why do wealthy folk get to simply apologize for extensive, massive, economy crashing, monetized misdeeds? The wealthy wrong doers come dapperly dressed before Congressional Committees… (looking like they need a strong drink, make that a double) read their statements, and go on with their wealthy wrong doing lives?
No accountability. No consequences.
Case in point, MF Global CEO Jon Corzine, and the $1.2 billion (and possibly a lot more) blockbuster bankruptcy. Fmr. NJ, U.S. Senator, and Governor Jon Corzine finds himself at the center of a massive monetized disaster… and people (investors) want ANSWERS, and ACCOUNTABILITY.
As this blog is typed, The House Agriculture Committee which subpoenaed MF Global CEO Jon Corzine, is holding a hearing to get to the bottom of ‘all of this.’
Why is ‘all of this’ looking like a big fat show?
Please see Corzine statement below:
STATEMENT OF JON S. CORZINE
BEFORE THE UNITED STATES HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
COMMITTEE ON AGRICULTURE
DECEMBER 8, 2011
http://agriculture.house.gov/pdf/hearings/Corzine111208.pdf
An excerpt:
“I have not had access to the information that I would need to understand what happened. It is extremely difficult for me to reconstruct the events that occurred during the chaotic days and the last hours leading up to the bankruptcy filing.
I simply do not know where the money is, or why the accounts have not been reconciled to date.”
HMMMM MMMMM…
Wealthy folk adhere to a distinct, and very different world of accountability and consequences, as in NONE of either!
The MF Global bankruptcy, and Jon Corzine case is yet another blazing example of gross class differences in these United States of America.
As I watch this hearing,.. this case overwhelmingly smells of yet more slick, high fallutin corruption!
Can you say #OWS, and the 99% Movement?
